What it is
A relief pressed into the panel with the perforation punched inside it. The catalog prints all five twice, once perforated and once plain, which is the only place it shows the same panel both ways.
What it does
It separates the design from the performance. The pressed relief carries the look and the perforation inside it carries the absorption, so the same design can run open where the room needs it and closed where it does not, with no visible change across the ceiling.
Where it is best used
Rooms where the acoustic requirement varies across one ceiling plane, and projects where a specifier wants one panel design approved for both conditions. All five are held at one panel size with three hole options, on lay in and clip in.
Special perforation is a face pattern, not a performance specification. The special sheet publishes no open-area figure for any of these. Where the acoustic number is what has to be met, work from the uniform range, which gives an open area for every pattern in it.
